Walker Filtration Staff Participate In the Great North Run. 2018

Posted on September 14th, 2018

Everyone here at Walker Filtration would like to congratulate several of our incredible staff members who took part in this year’s Great North Run last week, on Sunday 9th September, 2018.

The Great North Run is currently the largest half marathon in the world, being originally established in 1981, and taking place annually in the North East of England each September. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields, usually taking them around two hours and 30 minuets to complete the half-marathon.

Collectively, they ran 65.5 miles (105.4km), and between them raised over £1,100 for charities including Prostate Cancer UK, Mind – The Mental Health Charity, and 4×4 Response UK. Over 43,000 people took part in the 13.1-mile event, which began at 11:00 on Sunday.

To all those involved, a big well done is much deserved on completing this fantastic achievement! We hope to see you back to beat your time next year!
