Walker Filtration Shortlisted For Two 2020 ‘Made in the North East Awards’

Walker Filtration is delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for not one, but two, awards at this year’s Insider ‘Made in the North East Awards’, which annually recognise the achievements of innovative and forward-thinking businesses in the manufacturing sector.

Maintenance and Operations Engineering Apprentice, Morgan Pearce, has been shortlisted by judges for the 2020 ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award, following competition from other nominees, including three other fantastic apprentices here at Walker Filtration.

Morgan, who is in the second year of her apprenticeship, has completed her BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering/Manufacturing and started a HNC (Level 4) in Electrical Engineering in September 2020. Peter Wilson, Senior Maintenance and Process Engineer commented: “Morgan is proactive and a problem solver. Her work ethic and enthusiastic approach to learning is second to none and she is a credit to both herself and the business.”

Walker Filtration are also shortlisted for ‘Manufacturer of the Year (Over £25m)’. The winners are scheduled to be announced on the 25th March 2021, at the Hilton, Newcastle Gateshead.
